Prompt:
Princess Tutu is recognized by many as a fun and unique take on the well-versed magical girl genre. The series plays with and subverts many of the expectations that goes with the genre. But how would the series work if it was a superhero comic? Once again, we're asking you to move away from Princess Tutu's normal trappings and explore how things could work in another. What would Princess Tutu be like as a superhero? Would she have the same powers or new ones? What kind of villain would Princess Kraehe be like? What kind of backdrop would Kinkan/Gold Crown Town be like if it was in the same kinds of universes as Superman and Spider-man? Would it be a fun romp, gritty deconstruction, or something else entirely? We want to know what you think. Your challenge is to take the Princess Tutu cast and place them in the world of comic book superheroes.

Deadline: Friday 28 Oct., 11p.m. PST

Things to keep in mind:
You can choose to create your own original superhero or to homage/reference an existing comics superhero. Both options are accepted.
If you do choose to homage/reference an established character, you are not confined to traditional cape heroes (ex, Batman, Superman, Spider-man, X-men); you can choose to play with characters that don't fit the usual mold so long as they are comic book characters that can conceivably fit in a superhero universe (ex. Morpheus from Sandman, John Constantine from Hellblazer, Hellboy, etc.).
Please keep your inspiration to titles from the Americas, Europe, and Australia. No manga, anime or related titles (we are holding out the option to do a manga/anime focused contest in the future). If you think a title is obscure, you can provide links for information.

To Enter:
Both fan art & fan fiction are accepted.
Only entries that adhere to the rules set in the contest prompt will be accepted.
To be an official entry, you must submit your piece into the "2011 OCT Contest" gallery folder by the deadline.
After the deadline has passed, the folder will be closed and no new submissions will be accepted.
As per general contest rules, you are allowed to submit up to three entries. (Admin may only submit one.)
