PT Steampunk Genderflip by Asatira PT Steampunk Genderflip by Asatira
:icondonotuseplz::iconmyartplz:

This was a piece created, in part, to be the promotional image for the next :iconclub-tutu: contest. But not really. The contest, where the members would submit art or fiction of the Princess Tutu characters as genderflipped steampunk versions of themselves, never really happened. It was an April Fool's Day joke :iconelfgrove: and I decided to play. Long story short: we had come up with some prompts for the next contest to be voted on by our members. In the midst of discussion about the topics, Becky decided to combine two in order to see how many votes it would get. It eventually got the least votes. We had decided, prior to the results, to take the loser of the poll and use that as a joke. It was a not too surprising pleasure that this lost and got used.

That said, I still think this is a pretty decent piece. I wanted to go with a faded Victorian era illustration look. Go check out =elfgrove's version [link] .

Ooooh gawsh I love this. It's too bad this didn't win in the poll, but I got to see the joke. It even spurred people into making such interesting pieces! Best joke you two ever came up with.
Also, I like your versions of the gender bent characters.

Have to agree, this is a nice piece... and the concept is actually pretty fun sounding. XD That's the sort of theme that I would do, actually... Despite the fact that all of my characters would then be gender-flipped-Steampunk-anthropomorphics... Which seems quite out there.

But I like the quasi-Victorian look you've tried to impart here. And overall, I like the layout of the image, too.

Haha. Still love this piece. I think the serious art did a lot towards making the prank believable. I can't believe how many people fell for it. :heart:

Yeah, it probably did. And I was surprised too at how many believed it.

Still though, I worked hard on a piece and intend to pass it in :P

I'm not even disappointed or angry that I fell for it :XD: I'M PROUD. IT MADE ME MAKE SOMETHING AWESOME.

But still. I suck so much it's not even funny :P

Keep at it. I bet it'll be great.

To be honest, we weren't sure if people were playing along with the joke or not. :shrug:
