In the Style of II

Prompt:
We like art. Many of us love art. Each one of us has his or her favorite artists, someone whose work you enjoy and draw inspiration from. Or maybe there's a specific art piece that you enjoy. This month's contest is simple but varied: take an artist or art piece you like and do an entry based on that information.

Deadline: Aug. 28, 11 p.m. PST

Things to keep in mind:
You can choose to do a piece in the style of an artist or movement. An example would be a Picasso-style portrait or a caricature in the style of Al Hirschfeld. You're going after the general look, not necessarily a particular piece. Or you can choose to homage a particular piece. You may want to place a character in, say, the Mona Lisa (as in the prompt image) or emulate the setting of Degas' Dance Class. Here you're emulating the composition/feel more than anything; matching the style is up to you. Or a mix of the two.
Humorous/parody pieces are allowed, even encouraged. Feel free to have fun with the characters and your chosen inspiration. Maybe they find the setting silly, or don't like sitting for a painting.
Emphasizing a standard rule here: All content must be original.
When you submit your entry, you MUST provide some information about your source/inspiration in the artist description; a resource link is welcome. A single sentence can be sufficient. However, anything without a reference will not be accepted.
The only influences we will not accept for this contest are fellow, non-professional Deviantartists (professionals with work known outside DA, like alohalilo or fyre-flye, are fine) and anime/manga.

To Enter:
Both fan art & fan fiction are accepted.
Only entries that adhere to the rules set in the contest prompt will be accepted.
To be an official entry, you must submit your piece into the "2014 AUG Contest" gallery folder by the deadline.
After the deadline has passed, the folder will be closed and no new submissions will be accepted.
As per general contest rules, you are allowed to submit up to three entries. (Admin may only submit one.)
